We are now sending the 12 week e-mail Programme : Check your SPAM folder

It’s taken a while to get the 12 week Break Through Growth Traps email programme complete, but it’s now being sent out to all of you who signed up. It’s possible that the emails are going in your SPAM folder, so please add growthtraps.com to your safe sender list to get the e-mails to your inbox.

This is the first version of the course so we’re asking for feedback on how well it works for you, and if there’s anything we could adjust.

In the meantime, I hope you find the insights and exercises helpful to make the change you want.

Moodboards for Making Decisions

Have you ever sat there with too many choices – and wondering how to decide? One of my friends, James*, was looking to move house, but there were to many components to the choice, so we looked at the idea of mood boards. Create a lifestyle for each house type he was looking for and imagine yourself in that world, and feel the feelings, see the sights and experience it. It helps you know your choices for what you feel comfortable and what is not.

The baying mob and apologies

Jon Ronson shares a story of how the twitter world can be so damaging. In 2015 a senior director of corporate communications made a tweet at the start of a flight to South Africa basically using irony to show how the USA / Western world is disconnected to issues in Africa. Except one of her 100+ followers got offended and retweeted it.

Dealing with Excuses

We all make excuses. It might be to hide failure, to cover up fear, to save face due to a lapse in behaviour. How do we see the difference between a reason and an excuse?

I have one friend who always wants trustworthy in public, so they’ve built a defence mechanism, that they never ‘commit’ to friends to do something, so they never let them down. When you invite them to an event, they can never commit, until a few hours before. So they haven’t let you down, but you can never plan for them.
